ADA385: Basic parts list

We are going to start building physical interfaces that talk to our Processing sketches. Woo-hoo! I've compiled a barebones parts list to get us started. For folks wishing to take this a step further, we'll be talking about microcontrollers and a number of advanced topics a little later in the semester.

The items below can be purchased from SparkFun Electronics - a place you can go to get tools, hardware, and sensors to build cool electronic gadgets:

Soldering Iron - 40W $5.95
Solder Lead Free 10-gram Tube $3.50
Hook-up Wire - Yellow $2.50
Wire Strippers 30AWG $4.95
Breadboard Clear Self-Adhesive $5.95
Basic LED - 5mm Red $0.35
Basic LED - 5mm Yellow $0.35
Basic LED - 5mm Green $0.35
Concave Button - Red $1.95
Concave Button - Blue $1.95

Total for SparkFun: $29.75

Now, there's one more item that we need - a keyboard emulator. This will allow us to make our own custom push button controllers. You can purchase one from GroovyGameGear:

GP-Wiz40-Eco USB Controls Interface $25.95
