Description:
In this course, we will learn how to design and develop dynamic web applications using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and Javascript. By the end of the semester you will be able to build a social media platform from the ground up. We will explore the social implications of using the internet as a means to foster community, discussion and collaboration.
Prerequisite: ADA288
Grading:
All assignments must be completed on the due date. Assignments not handed in at all will receive an "F" grade. Assignments handed in late, without a proper excuse, will receive a grade penalty. Projects may be reworked and re-submitted, after initial critique and grading, for re-grading. Re-submission does not guarantee a higher grade.

The material covered in this course is technical and fascinating. It is crucial that you make every effort to show up on time. If you need to miss a class, please let me know ahead of time so that I can make arrangements to record the lecture on video.

I will be available to meet on Monday mornings from 9:00am – 11:00am. If this time does not work for you, let me know and we can schedule a meeting on an alternate date.

Hosting:
The art department has generously provided us with a hosting account that contains all of the necessary tools needed when building dynamic web applications. Because this is a shared space, please be mindful of other student work. Also, do not share the username and password with anyone outside of this class. You may also use your own hosting account if you wish.
